INCIDENT: PC 311.11(a) Possession of Child Pornography

SUSPECT: Joseph Anthony Borges III, Age 48, Resident of Yucca Valley
SUMMARY:
On November 7, 2023, detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Specialized Investigations Division - Crimes Against Children Detail received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) concerning child sexual abuse material.
During the investigation, detectives from the Crimes Against Children Detail and Morongo Basin Station identified Joseph Anthony Borges III, a teacher at La Contenta Middle School, as the suspect.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Borges III was arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail in Joshua Tree for violation of PC 311.11(a) Possession of Child Pornography, in lieu of $40,000 bail.
