Permit Reminder 
The City of Carmi would like to take the opportunity to remind the community that building permits are required by ordinance for new construction, remodeling when rooms or porches/decks or garages are being added, yard barns and carports and any time the ground is disturbed such as planting a tree. There is no charge for these permits, which help protect City utilities. A permit application may be obtained by calling the City Clerk's office at 618-384-2001.
The City appreciates the cooperation of the community in this matter.
