Flood advisory in effect overnight; Avoid travel during height of storm
A Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued for Hudson County, including Hoboken, from 1 a.m. through 7 a.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service predicts widespread rain of 1.5 to 2 inches with flooding possible in low-lying areas, particularly during high tide, which is at approximately 3:37 a.m.
Due to the forecast, it is recommended those driving to their holiday destinations do so before 8 p.m. tonight or after 8 a.m. tomorrow. If travel is required, allow extra time, as some roads may be closed. Do not walk or drive around barricades or through flooded areas. Do not move flood advisory signs or barricades from flood-prone areas.
Residents are reminded the City offers overnight discounted parking from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. at a rate of $5 a night in Garages “B”, “D”, or Midtown. Only those with an active resident parking permit are eligible. Space is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Standard rates apply at all other times.
