DETAILS: While on patrol of the Nassau Park Pavilion, Ptl. Fattibene was approached by the Assistant Manager of Panera Bread advising him that someone had tried to purchase food using a counterfeit $100 bill. He reported that he last saw the suspect going into Crumbl Cookies. Ptl. Fattibene immediately went to investigate and was told by an employee of Crumbl Cookies that the suspect had purchased some cookies with a $100 bill, and then went next door to Party City. Ptl. Fattibene located and detained Henry Rice at the Party City checkout where he was trying to make a small purchase using a $100 bill that was undergoing a check for authenticity. Ptl. G. DeBlasio assisted with the investigation by going to Crumble Cookies to examine the $100 bill that Rice had used there. While there, an employee of Playa Bowls approached Ptl. DeBlasio to report that someone had used a counterfeit $100 bill at their store too. Rice was determined to be the suspect in all of the incidents, and he was found to be in possession of additional counterfeit $100 bills that all had the same serial number. He also had several hundred dollars of real money in lower denominations that were believed to be proceeds of his criminal activity. Rice was processed at WWPD and released pending a future date in court.

DETAILS: Officers were detailed to a crash at the intersection of Old Trenton Rd. and Edinburg Rd. Upon arrival it was found that no crash had taken place, but that the driver of a black Audi sedan, Angel David Ortiz-Veliz, had been pulled out of his car and his car keys taken away from him by good samaritans who witnessed him driving recklessly at high rates of speed, improperly passing cars, and driving in the wrong lane. Investigation also determined that Ortiz-Veliz was DWI. He was processed at WWPD and released pending future court dates.

DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to Ulta Beauty for a known shoplifter in the store. Store employees recognized the suspect from a shoplifting on February 13th of this year where she stole $3,339.00 worth of merchandise (Incident #2023-5306). Officers detained the suspect, investigated the allegation, and after establishing probable cause to charge her with the February 13th shoplifting, asked her to identify herself, but she was uncooperative and refused to do so. After being arrested and transported to WWPD she finally revealed herself to be Tyonna Henderson. Henderson was charged with Obstruction and for the Shoplifting on February 13th, and released pending future court dates.

She scanned most of the items, but failed to scan $123.77 worth of merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying for those items. Pecarsky Birkhead was released at the scene and later charged with Shoplifting.

DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to the Princeton Junction Train Station for a disturbance. When officers arrived, the victim pointed out James Leonard as the suspect who had burglarized his car. Investigation found that Leonard had entered the victim’s unlocked car and stole his driver’s license, work identification, and credit cards from his wallet. When the victim saw Leonard sitting in the driver’s seat of his car, he approached and confronted him, but Leonard just walked away from him. Leonard was found to be in possession of the victim’s property, and also a wallet belonging to another person. Leonard was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

Investigation found that Randi Dempster selected tools, electronics, and other items totaling $1,236.83 which she placed into a shopping cart. She pushed the cart near an exit and then abandoned it. She went outside, and after smoking a cigarette, reentered the store, reclaimed her cart and pushed it out of the store without paying. Dempster was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

DETAILS: Ptl. K. LaForge #5104 was on Halloween safety patrol of the Windsor Ponds Development when he was approached by a resident/victim who reported that someone had just threatened him with a knife. According to the victim, a black sedan had been driving aggressively through the neighborhood endangering children who were out for Halloween. When he saw that same vehicle speeding again, he stepped out into the roadway to try and slow it down. The black sedan kept going and was driving around him when he slapped the car’s rear passenger window. The sedan stopped and the driver, later identified as Evan Stockwell, got out and approached him aggressively. Heated words were exchanged and Stockwell pulled out a knife on the victim before leaving. Investigation determined that Stockwell had been delivering pizza at the time of the incident. Officers found out where Stockwell would be delivering next, and while checking that neighborhood, Sgt. W. Jones #484 spotted his vehicle and stopped it. Stockwell was processed at WWPD and committed to the Mercer County Corrections Center.
