Coastal Flood Watch until 02:00PM Monday
* WHAT...A low pressure system will intensify in the Gulf of Maine tonight into Monday. This will aid in increasingly strong southeasterly winds and offshore seas of 9 to 12 feet. These conditions will combine with the high astronomical tide for the month to potentially produce minor coastal flooding late Monday morning.
* WHERE...Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington Counties.
* WHEN...From Monday morning through Monday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Some roads may be closed with up to 1 foot of inundation expected in the more vulnerable areas including Roque Bluffs, Schoodic Point, Seawall Road, Deer Isle Causeway, Deer Isle Oak Point, Cutler, Machias and Lubec. Splashover and some beach erosion is likely.
* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL HANCOCK ... COASTAL WASHINGTON
Instructions:
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
