Coastal Flood Advisory until 02:00PM Monday
* WHAT...A low pressure system will intensify in the Gulf of Maine tomorrow morning. This will aid in increasingly strong southeasterly winds and offshore seas of 9 to 12 feet. These conditions will combine with the high astronomical tide for the month to produce minor coastal flooding late Monday morning. Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low- lying areas near shorelines.
* WHERE...Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington Counties.
* WHEN...From 7 AM to 2 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront & piers. Some low-lying causeways will have water beginning to approach the road with up to 1 foot of inundation above ground level at vulnerable low lying areas. The majority of roads will remain passable with only isolated closures.
* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL HANCOCK ... COASTAL WASHINGTON
Instructions:
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
