INCIDENT: Penal Code 209(a) - Kidnapping

SUSPECT(S): Jennifer Penaflor, 44-Year-old Resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Monday, November 20, 2023, at approximately 2:14 P.M., deputies assigned to the Morongo Basin Station responded to the 6000 block of Smoke Tree Avenue in Twentynine Palms for a report of a kidnapping. The victim, a 9-year-old female, was playing outside in the front yard with a friend, when a female suspect grabbed the victim by her hand and forcefully pulled her away from her house. The father of the victim was notified of the incident and detained the suspect from leaving until responding deputies arrived.
Through further investigation the suspect was identified as Jennifer Penaflor. Penaflor was arrested for Penal Code Violation 209(a) - Kidnapping, and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with bail set at $80,000.
