Chevron Richmond is experiencing flaring activity due to a loss of power to a portion of the plant. Chevron is working to minimize and stop the flaring. A Community Warning System (CWS) Level 1 has been issued due to visible flaring. A CWS Level 1 requires no action by the public. Richmond Fire Dept, Contra Costa County Haz Mat, and BAAQMD are conducting air monitoring in the vicinity of the refinery.
