The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
  
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20. 2023 
7:21 AM: Detective Musantry investigated the theft of a vehicle from Cedar Court.

8:56 AM: Officer McCuin investigated an auto burglary via door pry on the 37000 block of Poplar Street. The loss was tools. The theft occurred over the weekend.
 
10:05 AM: Officer Williams arrested a 31-year-old male out of Newark for being drunk in public. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.  
 
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2023 
4:13 AM: Officer Williams investigated a report of a stolen vehicle on Bettencourt Street.
 
6:14 AM: Officer Torres investigated the theft of a vehicle from the 35500 block of Biscay Place.

8:09 AM: Officer Slavazza investigated two auto burglaries via toolbox pry in the area of Dumbarton Court.

8:19 AM: Officer Jackman investigated the theft of a vehicle from the 36000 block of Cypress Point Drive. The theft occurred overnight.

9:58 AM: Officer Jackman investigated a commercial burglary via a front door smash on Stevenson Boulevard. The loss was one hundred dollars.

9:05 AM: Officer Losier investigated an auto burglary via window smash in an apartment complex parking lot on Sycamore Street. The loss was a vehicle diagnostic scanner. The theft occurred overnight.

3:52 PM: Officer Losier investigated the theft of a vehicle from the 6300 block of Buena Vista Drive. The theft occurred overnight.
 
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2023 
4:45 AM: Officer Torres investigated a report of a stolen vehicle from Magnolia Street.
 
7:51 AM: Officer Slavazza located an unoccupied stolen vehicle in the 8000 block of Peachtree Avenue.  

8:27 PM: Officer Williams responded to a disturbance on Cherry Street involving a 29-year-old adult male out of Newark for being drunk in public. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

10:08 PM: Officer Riddles arrested a 30-year-old female out of Hayward for domestic violence. She was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2023
1 :38 AM: Officer Kapu investigated a vehicle collision and arrested a 21-year-old male out of Oakley for driving under the influence. The driver struck a couple of trees, a vehicle in a driveway and a city light pole. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

4:36 PM: Officer Norvell located and recovered an unoccupied felony want vehicle on Peppertree Court. 

6:47 PM: Officer Riddles observed a near vehicle collision in the area of Milani Avenue and initiated a vehicle stop. She ultimately arrested a 23-year-old male out of Newark for driving under the influence. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2023  
9:01 AM: Officers responded to a road-rage incident where a firearm may have been brandished. Multiple involved subjects were contacted, and a consent search resulted in the location of two properly registered firearms in a vehicle. The victim ultimately did not desire prosecution.

10:07 AM: During a traffic enforcement stop, Officer Quinonez arrested a 40-year-old male out of Newark for possession of a controlled substance. He was issued a citation and was released from the scene.

11:34 AM: A 39-year-old male out of Newark was arrested for felony domestic violence in the 7300 block of Carter Avenue. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

2:18 PM: Officers investigated a theft of a vehicle from the 6000 block of Lafayette Avenue.

6:41 PM: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle colliding into a backyard fence. Officers contacted the driver, a 25-year-old male out of Roseville, and determined that he was under the influence. Officer Kapu arrested him for DUI and he was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
 
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2023  
8:36 AM: Officer Frentescu investigated an attempted catalytic converter theft. Homeowners on the 7500 block of Shady Hollow Drive chased off a suspect while another suspect fled in a vehicle.

9:55 AM: Officer Jackman investigated the theft of a vehicle from the 6100 block of Thornton Avenue.

11:28 AM: Officers contacted a 48-year-old male out of Newark who was found to have an arrest warrant for theft and possession of burglary tools. He was issued a citation and released on scene.

12:24 PM: Officer Taylor investigated an auto burglary via window smash on 35000 block of Cardiff Street. The loss was to be determined and no suspect information. The theft occurred sometime overnight.

12:49 PM: Officer Frentescu investigated the theft of a vehicle from the 6300 block of Zulmida Avenue.

2:17 PM:  Officer Frentescu located a stolen vehicle in the 5800 block of Mayhews Landing Road.
 
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2023 
12:29 AM: Officers Soto and Kapu investigated a report of a domestic dispute and arrested a 25-year-old male out of Newark for domestic violence. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
1:51 PM: Officer Jackman investigated a vehicle theft from Sycamore Street.

8:27 PM:  Officers responded to a vacant business on Newark Boulevard after receiving reports of a trespasser on the property. Upon arrival, officers contacted a 41-year-old male out of Newark riding his bike to the rear of the business. Officers conducted a search of his person and located drug paraphernalia. He was issued a citation and released from the scene. Officers searched the business ad located a 34-year-old male out of Menlo Park inside. He was arrested for trespassing and also issued a citation.
