INCIDENT: Penal Code 422(a) - Criminal Threats

SUSPECT(S): Brandon Robinson, an 18-year-old resident of Yucca Valley
17-year-old juvenile resident of Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): Morongo Unified School District
SUMMARY: On Thursday, November 30, 2023, at approximately 8:34 a.m., the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station received information about two students who threatened to commit a mass shooting at the Yucca Valley High School through a Snapchat video. Deputies arrived at the school within minutes and investigated the incident. During the investigation, the mentioned Snapchat video was located, reviewed, and two current students were identified on campus. Both students were detained immediately and interviewed at the scene.
After the investigation, both students were arrested for violation of Penal Code 422(a)- Criminal Threats, and the campus was deemed safe. The Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station and the Morongo Unified School District continue to work together to ensure the safety of students and staff.
