Marshalls Store Evacuated When Anonymous Caller Claims There is a Bomb Inside

SUMMARY: On Thursday, November 30, 2023, at approximately 8:49 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to a report of a bomb threat at the Yucca Valley Marshalls department store.
An unknown male called Marshalls and claimed he had planted a bomb inside the store earlier in the day and demanded $500,000, or the bomb would be detonated. California Highway Patrol Officers from the CHP Morongo Basin Station responded and assisted store employees and deputies with evacuation of the store and parking lot. Two explosive detection K9 teams from the Provost Marshal’s Office responded from the 29 Palms Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center and searched the business for explosive devices. No explosive devices were located.
