Police Seek Help Identifying Robbery Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with a robbery that occurred on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
At approximately 8:57 p.m., Police responded to the 300 block of Chestnut Street on a call of a robbery. A man walking in the area was approached from behind by a male suspect who put the victim in a chokehold and demanded his belongings. The victim escaped and the suspect fled, heading eastbound on Chestnut Street towards Van Buren Street. The victim was treated for his injuries at University Hospital and released.
Detectives investigating this incident are requesting the public’s help in quickly identifying the suspect.
