Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.
On November 30, at approximately 10:53 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 900 block of North Pine Street, when they observed a motor vehicle commit a traffic violation. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 600 block of Taylor Street and made contact with the driver – 25-year-old Maurice Byrd. Following a brief investigation, Byrd was taken into custody without incident and recovered a 9mm handgun.
Byrd has been charged with the following offense in addition to traffic violations:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $1,000 unsecured bail.
