Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with an October shooting incident.
On October 17, at approximately 2:28 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 700 block of North Washington Street, in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police located a 30-year-old male gunshot victim, who arrived to the hospital in stable condition. The case was assigned to Detective Michael Hayman of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of his investigation, Detective Hayman identified 41-year-old Brian Harker as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On November 30, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division took Harker into custody without incident.
Harker has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by as Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $226,000 cash-only bail.
