Wilmington Police have made an arrest in connection with a Saturday shooting incident.
On Saturday, December 2, at approximately 6:40 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 500 block of West 8th Street, in reference to a shooting incident.
Upon arrival, police located a 34-year-old male gunshot victim, who arrived at the hospital in stable condition. The case was assigned to Detective John O’Connor Jr. of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of his investigation Detective O’Connor identified 34-year-old Jeremiah Watson as a suspect. Members of the Safe Streets Task Force located Watson in the 500 block of West 7th Street and took him into custody without incident.
Watson has been charged with the following offenses:
• Assault (First Degree)
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $80,000 cash-only bail.
