Prescribed Burn Notification
December 4th, 2023 - The Bixby Fire Department is assisting in a prescribed burn that will take place in the next few weeks. The burn will occur north of the Arkansas River and east of the Arkansas River bridge on Memorial Drive. The date for the burn will be based upon weather conditions so as to minimize the impacts to Memorial Drive and neighborhoods located to the north and south of the property.
Today, Bixby Fire will be performing a “Fire Line” burn to proceed the full event.
Desired weather conditions for this burn will be a temperature range of 40-80 degrees Fahrenheit, relative humidity of 40%-60%, and a southeasterly wind direction with speeds of 4-15 mph. Approximately 24 acres of vegetation are to be burned over an estimated one to three days.
