INCIDENT: Anonymous School Shooting Threat
LOCATION: Twentynine Palms Junior High School - 5798 Utah Trail, Twentynine Palms

VICTIM(S): Morongo Unified School District - 5716 Utah Trail, Twentynine Palms
SUMMARY: On Monday, December 4, 2023, at approximately 11:58 a.m., school staff from Twentynine Palms Junior High received an anonymous telephone call from an unidentified number. The anonymous caller provided brief information to the staff member threatening a school shooting. Within minutes, deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station arrived in the immediate area. The deputies rapidly deployed search teams to three school campuses. The deputies conducted simultaneous searches at the junior high school, Twentynine Palms Elementary School, and the Twentynine Palms Plus Program. No threats were located on any of the campuses. The source of this call is currently under investigation.
The Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station and the Morongo Unified School District continue to collaborate to ensure the safety of all students and staff members within the district.
