Police Seek Help Identifying Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with a theft that occurred on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., Police responded to the 400 block of 13th Avenue on a call of a theft. A woman entering a residential building was followed by a male who snatched her purse and fled. The victim’s purse contained $200.00 in cash and nine money orders, valued at approximately $2,800.00.
Detectives investigating this incident are requesting the public’s help in quickly identifying the suspect. He is described a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white cobra snake on the back and white Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers. He was also carrying a black cross body bag.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
