Requesting Community Assistance: Package Theft Case
On December 5th, 2023, at approximately 8:30PM, NPD responded to a report of a package theft. The suspect stole several packages that had been on the doorstep of a residence on Laurelwood Drive. The suspect was seen on video surveillance (screenshots attached) and one of the photographs shows the woman holding some sort of aluminum dish. Currently, this appears to be an isolated incident within a specific neighborhood.
Keep your purchases safe by lighting up your residence in the evenings, keeping close tabs on package delivery schedules, and calling us if you see anything suspicious in your neighborhood.
Package Theft Prevention:
- Take advantage of package tracking.
- Install a video doorbell.
- Get your packages delivered to Amazon lockers.
- Consider buying a lockbox for your porch area.
- Require signature on deliveries.
- Make it obvious you have a home security system.
- Leave lights on when you go out.
- Alarm systems and video cameras are excellent for home security. It provides peace of mind to homeowners, especially while on vacation.
