*Murder Suspect Arrested*
On Thursday, November 30, 2023, Pomona Police Department Investigators, Major Crimes Task Force Officers & Special Investigations Unit Officers arrested 35-year-old Anthony Fernando Montenegro for the murder of 42-year-old Andrew Lee Duarte.
Following a brief dispute, Montenegro intentionally hit Duarte with his vehicle near Holt Ave. and Hershey St. on Friday, November 17. Duarte was taken to a nearby hospital and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators identified Montenegro in connection to the murder of Duarte. Montenegro was arrested in the City of Pomona and booked at the Pomona City Jail. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has filed the following charges:
