November 26, 2023

• No significant activity.

 
November 27, 2023

• Petty Theft:

2500 Block of Bloomdale Street. Between November 26, 2023 11 PM and November 27, 2023 7 AM, suspect(s) unknown stole the victim’s catalytic converter from his parked vehicle, a 2001 Honda Odyssey. The loss was approximately $700. No surveillance video is available. 
 
November 28, 2023

• Grand Theft (Shoplifting):

2315 Huntington Drive (CVS). On November 28, 2023 at 1:42 PM, the suspect unknown, a female black adult 5’ 03” 140 lbs., wearing a black “Juicy” tank top, and black shorts, entered the location and went directly to the cosmetic department. The suspect selected numerous expensive cosmetic items and placed them inside a large black bag she brought with her. The suspect exited the location without attempting to purchase the items and entered a silver Nissan Versa and drove out of view. The loss was approximately $1,400. Surveillance video is available.

 November 30, 2023

• Grand Theft Auto:

1700 Fasana Road (Esperanza). Between November 29, 2023 7 PM and November 30, 2023 7:30 AM, suspect(s) unknown stole the victim's parked vehicle, a red 2011 Hyundai Sonata. No surveillance video is available.
 
December 1, 2023

• Grand Theft (Shoplifting):

1450 Mountain Avenue (Harbor Freight). On December 1, 2023 at 6:50 PM, suspects unknown, a male hispanic adult wearing a green beanie, a gray shirt and tan pants and a male hispanic adult wearing a gray beanie, a black long sleeve shirt, and dark gray pants, entered the location and began walking around the location. The suspects grabbed a moving dolly, where they loaded it with two generators, two hex breaker hammers and exited the location without attempting to purchase the items. The loss was approximately $3,300. Surveillance video is available.
 
December 2, 2023

• Grand Theft:

1500 Block of Fairdale Avenue. Between December 1, 2023 6 PM and December 2, 2023 6:15 PM, suspect(s) unknown stole the victim’s catalytic converter from his parked vehicle, a 2013 Toyota Tacoma. The loss was approximately $1,300. No surveillance video is available.
   
Skimming devices are hidden electronics used to steal banking and personal information stored on credit and debit cards.In most cases, skimmers are being placed inside gas pumps and are undetectable without opening the machine.
 
Citizens can reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim by following the tips below:

•  Pay inside at the gas station, instead of paying at the pump.
•  If not using cash, always pay with a credit card, not a debit card, for better fraud protection.
•  If using a debit card, run it as a credit card instead of putting in a PIN number.
•  Consider using a refillable prepaid card to purchase gas at the pumps.
•  If you haven’t done so already, switch to a chip reader on your card.
•  Regularly monitor your bank statement for fraudulent activity.
•  Report fraudulent activity to your local law enforcement agency.
