The Maple Bluff Fire Rescue Department has responded to several addresses on Fisk Place and Kensington Dr. for a strange odor investigation. Fire crews have checked these homes and found a strong odor of epoxy/glue emanating from the sewer drains.

This odor is attributed to the relining of underground sewer lines in the Fisk Place, Kensington Dr., and Lakewood Blvd. (near the beach) areas. If you notice this odor in your home, please be sure to run water in each sink in your home to fill the P-trap, as well as floor drains. This will help prevent the odor from entering your home. After running water, please ventilate your home and the odor should subside.
