Deputies Pursue Vehicle Driven by a Juvenile Suspect in Rancho Cucamonga

SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 1:13 A.M., Rancho Cucamonga deputies observed a vehicle driving without its headlights activated. The deputies attempted a traffic stop, however, the driver failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.
The driver ran multiple stop signs and red lights. He crossed over the center median and drove on the opposite side of the road. The driver collided with a curb and a city pole on Ramona Avenue and fled on foot into a nearby residential neighborhood.
The Ontario Police Department’s helicopter was on scene and guided deputies to where the suspect ran. The suspect jumped a fence into a resident’s backyard and was detained by deputies.
The suspect, a 15-year-old male, was arrested. He was evaluated by medical staff at a local hospital and was uninjured. The suspect was transported to the San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall for booking.
