ARMED SUSPECT COMMITS NUMEROUS
VEHICLE BURGLARIES
 
 
On December 07, 2023, at approximately 2:20 a.m., the Morgan Hill Police Department responded to the area of Depot Street to investigate the report of a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed with its alarm sounding.  Officers immediately responded to the area and located the vehicle as it drove on Depot Street.  Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop; however, the vehicle did not yield.  A short vehicle pursuit was initiated; however, it was quickly terminated due to unsafe and reckless driving by the suspect driver.
 
During the course of the investigation, officers obtained video surveillance, which showed at least one of the suspects standing outside of the suspect vehicle holding a handgun that contained a high-capacity magazine.  The investigation further revealed the unknown suspect was driving an unreported stolen vehicle.  It was determined the unknown suspect committed at least seven vandalisms and vehicle burglaries on Depot Street, E. Third Street, and E. Fourth Street.
 
The Morgan Hill Police Department is sharing the details of this case to strongly discourage our community members from intervening during the commission of any crime or any type of suspicious event, including vehicle burglaries, and to contact 9-1-1 as soon as possible.  We would also like to remind everyone to remove all valuables from their vehicle and remain highly vigilant while parking in well-lit areas.
