Twin Peaks Deputies Investigating Student Who Brought a Suspicious Device to School

INCIDENT: Penal Code 18710 - Possession of a Destructive Device
LOCATION: 730 Rhine Road, Lake Arrowhead
SUSPECT(S): 13-year-old male juvenile, resident of Crestline
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Thursday, December 7, 2023, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Twin Peaks Station, received information that a student brought a suspicious device to Mary Putnam Henck Intermediate School.
Out of an abundance of caution, the school was placed on lockdown, and the administration building was evacuated. Sheriff's Bomb and Arson personnel responded and rendered the device safe. The device was examined, and it was determined no explosive material was present.
The school lockdown was lifted, and normal school operations resumed. The student was arrested and released to his family. At no time were any of the students or staff in any danger.
