The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch from 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 10, through 6:00 AM on Monday, December 11. The current forecast anticipates 2-3 inches of rain in our area. 

The Department of Public Works will be monitoring known problem areas, and residents are asked to ensure that any leaf piles in the road are in compliance with Town guidelines:

• Place leaves in narrow rows alongside the curb, while leaving space near the gutters for drainage.
• Do not place leaves within ten feet of any storm water inlet.

Significant rainfall may result in temporarily overcharged storm drains. This is not unusual, especially during leaf season, and typically the excess water dissipates after a short time. The Westfield Police and Fire Departments will also be monitoring road conditions.
