Weather Advisory - HEAVY RAIN & STRONG WINDS THIS AFTERNOON INTO MONDAY
Please be advised that the Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the storm system which already started to arrive in our area and is expected to intensify later this afternoon and continue into Monday.
This storm is expected to bring 2” to 3” of heavy rain and gusty winds. A Flood Watch has been posted for all counties from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon. Wind gusts may be up to 40 mph. Poor travel conditions, downed power lines, downed trees and flooding could be a result of this storm system. Please avoid any unnecessary travel and allow extra travel time for your Monday morning commute. Report all power outages directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS
Safety Tips:
- Always assume that all downed power lines are live!
- If you come across a flooded roadway, please don't drive through it. Turn around and report it to the police department.
- Secure all outdoor furniture, garbage cans & lawn decorations by tying them down or bring them inside.
