The National Weather Service's flood watch for Hudson County, including Hoboken, is in effect from 4 p.m. today through 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11. 2 to 4 inches of rainfall is likely, with locally higher amounts possible. Due to heavy rain overnight, flooding is possible in low-lying areas, particularly during high tide, which is at approximately 6:41 p.m. on Sunday.
Avoid flood-prone areas
The Office of Emergency Management reminds residents to avoid flood-prone areas. Intense rainfall of greater than 0.8 inch per hour could result in flooding in low-lying areas. Barricades have been deployed near flood-prone intersections. Do not walk or drive through barricades or flooded areas.

Secure loose objects
Hoboken could experience wind gusts of up to 30 mph.
Residents should secure all loose objects outside or bring them inside, especially from balconies. Outdoor tents should be taken down depending on the wind load.
Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, resulting in power outages.
