This press release is to provide an update regarding the homicide that occurred at Big Bob's Liquor store on October 8, 2033. Following the initial arrest of a 17-year-old juvenile on October 10, 2023, the West Covina Police Department's investigators have diligently pursued various leads, which led to the apprehension of 19-year-old Arturo Ornelas, resident of Monterey Park, on November 16, 2023, for his alleged involvement in the murder of 34-year-old Karanvir Singh. The investigation continued and on December 7, 2023, 18-year-old Ivan Ventura Vanegas, resident of Alhambra, was also arrested in connection with the same homicide. Through their investigation, detectives believe all three suspects are from the same criminal street gang, which will not be disclosed. The two additional suspects have been booked for murder, robbery, accessory to a crime, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Ornelas was released on bond and Vanegas is being held at the West Covina Jail with no bail.
