On December 1st and twice on December 2nd, multiple packages were stolen from the front porches of several residences in Gloucester Township. Officers responded and observed surveillance video, which revealed a white Dodge Journey approach several houses, where packages had been delivered. The female occupant of the vehicle took the packages and left the area. When confronted by one resident, she falsely identified herself as a delivery driver who made a mistake, and continued to steal the packages. Through investigation, she was positively identified as Ebony Gomez. On December 8th, she was located by Police driving with unrestrained children in her vehicle but fled from the motor vehicle stop. While Police were checking the area, she was located, at which time she again fled, striking and injuring Gloucester Township Police Officer with her vehicle. She was charged with multiple counts of Eluding (2nd degree), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2nd degree), Aggravated Assault against Law Enforcement, (2nd degree), Theft of Movable Property (3rd Degree).
On December 11th, she was taken into custody by U.S. Marshal Service, in Monroe Township, and turned over to Gloucester Township Police for further investigation. She was processed and remanded to Camden County Jail.
