Counterfeit Fentanyl Pill Arrest
On 12-11-23, the Janesville Police Department (JPD) Street Crimes Unit (SCU), working jointly with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Wisconsin Department of Justice – Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI), took a Janesville resident, Cedric Sanders, into custody after an investigation into the illegal distribution of counterfeit prescription pills, which contain fentanyl.
As a result of the investigation, search warrants were served by JPD SCU and DEA at 1444 Starling Ln. and 3334 Spruce St. in Janesville. DEA and DCI also served a search warrant in Dane County that was related to the case. Seized during the search warrants was over 4,000 fentanyl pills, 1 pound marijuana, $12,960 in cash and 4 handguns. Cedric Sanders was arrested on a probation hold and is currently being held at the Rock County Jail on that charge. Sanders will be charged in the near future with several drug and gun charges related to this investigation.
