Narrative:
Two Thousand Oaks juveniles and one adult were arrested after attacking two juvenile victims with weapons, including brass knuckles and a hammer. The two victims were transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries suffered as a result of this attack.   
 
On the evening of December 8th, 2023, Thousand Oaks Patrol deputies responded to a call for service in the 500 block of Brossard Drive, regarding two juveniles whom were just attacked at this location.  Deputies responded to the scene and located the victims, both of whom suffered severe head injuries.  The victims were transported by air to a nearby hospital where they remain at the time of this release.      
 
Detectives were quickly able to obtain evidence and identify three suspects.  Approximately two hours later, detectives with the Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit located and arrested the three suspects at a residence in the 600 block of Avenida Del Platino.  Detectives subsequently obtained a search warrant for this residence and seized several items of evidence related to this crime.     
 
The two juveniles were booked into the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center with a court date pending.  Charges include 664/187 PC, Attempt Homicide, and 186.22 PC, Participation in a Criminal Street Gang.  (S) Lesly Ortiz was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail on charges of 664/187 PC, Attempt Homicide and 186.22 PC, Participation in a Criminal Street Gang, where she remains with a bail amount of $630,000.  Ortiz is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court for arraignment on December 12th at 1:30pm.     
 
The Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit consists of seven detectives who focus their efforts on protecting citizens of Thousand Oaks by actively investigating crime and pursuing suspects.  SEU also works to closely monitor and suppress gang activity.  The Thousand Oaks Police Department takes a zero-tolerance stance against gang violence and encourages anyone with information regarding criminal or gang activity to notify Sheriff’s Dispatch by calling 911, or (805) 654-9511 in non-emergencies.  Callers may remain anonymous.  We value and appreciate our community partnerships and are more effective with your support.
