INCIDENT: Implementation of Axon Body 3 Cameras (body worn cameras) at the Victor Valley Station
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, Captain Ken Lutz of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Victor Valley Station, will officially announce at the City of Adelanto Council Meeting that deputies serving Adelanto are now equipped with Axon Body 3 Cameras.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is adopting advanced technology to enhance accountability and transparency. After years of research and careful consideration, the department is integrating Axon Body 3 cameras to patrol operations.
One of the primary goals of introducing body-worn cameras is to maintain high standards of policing and to foster transparency within the communities the sheriff’s department serves. These cameras allow deputies to capture real-time interactions between officers and the public. The footage obtained can serve as valuable evidence in investigations, providing an unbiased account of events as they unfold.
“Our staff at the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station work hard to serve our communities in a professional and courteous manner. Transparency within the communities we serve is important in maintaining trust and fostering a positive relationship with our community.” - Captain Ken Lutz.
