DATE CHANGE: 2024 SHRIMP & GRITS FESTIVAL
In light of the recent release of the remaining 2024 UGA Football schedule, the Jekyll Island Authority has learned that the Georgia-Florida rivalry football game is slated for Saturday, November 2 in Jacksonville.
As such, the JIA has made the difficult decision to move the 2024 Shrimp & Grits Festival one week earlier, to Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26, to ensure there is not a significant reduction in festival attendance or participation by the many vendors, sponsors, restaurants, and partners who have joined the festival annually.
Please mark your calendars for this new 2024 date: October 25 & 26, 2024. More specific festival information will be released on the Jekyll Island website (www.jekyllisland.com/shrimpgrits) in the coming months, as it gets closer.
Additionally, while we do not have the dates for 2025, we are hopeful we will be able to continue to retain the first weekend in November. However, please be aware that this may become a shift in the future, should this rivalry game continue to overlap with festival dates.
