* WHAT...A powerful storm system will track west of Maine Monday into Tuesday. Strong south to southeast winds and very large offshore seas will push a significant amount of water to the shoreline. Up to 2 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines.
* WHERE...Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington Counties.
* WHEN...Monday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure may be inundated. Some shoreline erosion may occur. Areas of concern include but not limited to, Roque Bluffs, Schoodic Point, Seawall Road, Deer Isle Causeway, Deer Isle Oak Point Causeway, Cutler, Machias and Lubec.
* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL HANCOCK ... COASTAL WASHINGTON
Instructions:
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
