PRESS RELEASE: Seeking the public’s assistance with a carjacking investigation.

LOCATION: 1400 block of Marshall Street, Redwood City

On December 15th at around 7:11 PM the victim’s car was taken by force by a single, unidentified suspect. The victim was struck on the back of the head and removed from the vehicle by force. The suspect then drove off in it. This occurred in front of an apartment building at the 1400 block of Marshall Street.
At around 8:06 PM the victim’s vehicle, a green Toyota Camry, was located on fire near Bay Road and Charter in Redwood City.
The suspect is described as an African American male adult, about six feet tall, heavyset, wearing a mask and an orange construction jacket or vest. He was last seen running North on Bay Road. It is important to note that the suspect may have suffered burns or other injuries after he lit the car on fire.
