Flood Warning until 08:15AM Monday

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following counties, Columbia, Lancaster, Lebanon, Schuylkill, Sullivan and York.

* WHEN...Until 815 AM EST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 218 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lancaster, York, Lebanon, Lower Allen, Hanover, Bloomsburg, Pottsville, Ephrata, Weigelstown, Elizabethtown, Berwick, Columbia, Lititz, Middletown, Millersville, Willow Street, Mount Joy, Palmyra, New Cumberland and Tamaqua. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
