National “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Enforcement Campaign
5 arrested or Cited at Union City DUI Checkpoint
Union City, Calif. – On December 16, 2023, 5 citations were issued for driving with a suspended/revoked license or without a license.
A total of 341 drivers and vehicles were contacted.
The DUI checkpoint was held on Union City Blvd from 6 PM to 1 AM.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Additional DUI checkpoints will be conducted in 2024.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
