Wilmington Police request public assistance related to hit-and-run motor vehicle collision: 
Wilmington Police are requesting the assistance of the public related to a hit-and-run motor vehicle collision.
On December 10 at approximately 7:45 p.m., police responded to the intersection of South Clayton and Maple Streets in reference to a motor vehicle collision, in which a pedestrian was struck and the striking vehicle fled the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The striking vehicle is believed to be a tan minivan or full-sized SUV, which fled north on Clayton Street (traveling in the wrong direction) following the collision.
This incident remains under active investigation by the WPD Traffic Unit, and anyone with information or video is asked to contact Sgt. Pete Leccia at (302) 571-4414 or [email protected].
