Simi Valley Calif. – On December 16, 2023 one person was arrested for DUI, one person was arrested for driving without a court ordered ignition interlock device, and one person was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant at a DUI checkpoint.
The DUI checkpoint was held at East Los Angeles Avenue and Bridget Street from 7:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M.
Eleven drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 641 vehicles were contacted. DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
The next DUI checkpoint will be held in May of 2024.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
