River Edge residents are currently being targeted by scammers via telephone.  These individuals are calling and identifying themselves as police officers from the River Edge Police Department and claiming the resident has an active FBI warrant out for their arrest. The scammer has means to spoof the police departments number so that the police departments number (201-262-1233) appears on caller ID which could bring credibility of the phone call to a potential victim. 

The River Edge Police Department will NEVER call a resident claiming there is a warrant out for their arrest.  Please DO NOT give any personal information to the caller. Simply do not answer any questions and hang up.
