L.A. County Public Works Announces Phase 2 Mudflow Alert for Fish Fire Area: Yellow Alert from December 21 at 4 PM to December 22 at 8 AM 
Dear Duarte Residents,
As we brace for moderate to heavy rain in the Duarte area, Los Angeles County Public Works issues a Phase 2 mudflow alert for the Fish Fire area. Starting Thursday, December 21, at 4 PM, the Fish Fire Area will be elevated to a Yellow Alert Level, effective until Friday, December 22, at 8 AM.
Affected Area and Protocol:
Residents on Mel Canyon Road from Brookridge Road to Fish Canyon Road (approximately 25 homes) are urged to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Rain-related parking restrictions are in effect on Mel Canyon Road between Brookridge Road and Fish Canyon Road, as well as Deerlane Drive between Mel Canyon Road and Greenbank Avenue.
- Please remove any trash bins from the street. Residents on Mel Canyon are instructed to leave trash cans on the interior of their driveway for easy access by Burrtec Staff, who will manually pick up bins for the specified 25 homes.
Valley View School Drop-offs:
On Friday, December 22, morning drop-offs at Valley View Elementary School will take place on Deerlane Drive. No drop-offs will be allowed on Mel Canyon Road. School we remain in session.
Sandbags are available at LA County Fire Station 44 (1105 Highland Avenue, Duarte, CA 91010).
