Vehicle Pursuit Ensues When Deputies Attempt to Stop Organized Retail Theft Suspect in Chino Hills

SUMMARY: Chino Hills Deputies provide extra proactive patrol in the Shoppes to help deter retail thefts this holiday season.
On Friday, December 15, 2023, Fernando Quiroz entered LensCrafters at the Shoppes in Chino Hills. Quiroz concealed merchandise and exited the store without paying.
Chino Hills deputies conducting retail theft patrol initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle Quiroz was driving. Quiroz failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit ensued. Quiroz led deputies through the cities of Chino, Ontario, and Eastvale and was eventually taken into custody in Corona.
Quiroz was found to be on Post- Release Community Supervision (PRCS). The stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the business. Quiroz was transported to the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, where he was booked for felony evading and organized retail theft.
