Narrative: 
 
A search warrant resulted in the arrest of an armed robbery/domestic violence suspect as well as another suspect for sales of controlled substances.
 
On 12/4/2023, at approximately 12:03 AM, deputies responded to a domestic violence incident in the 600 block of Avenida De Los Arboles. Deputies learned (S) Marco Gutierrez battered his girlfriend (V) causing great bodily injury, and Gutierrez vandalized the girlfriend’s vehicle causing over $400 in damage. Gutierrez fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
 
On 12/4/2023, at approximately 6:47 PM, Gutierrez returned to the residence and vandalized the girlfriend’s vehicle again, causing less than $400 in damage, and fled the scene. Detectives conducted an investigation to locate and apprehend Gutierrez.
 
On 12/16/2023, at approximately 3:26 PM, deputies responded to an armed robbery that had occurred at the USA Gas station, located in the 1700 block of Thousand Oaks Blvd. During the subsequent investigation, Gutierrez was identified as the suspect. Between 12/16/2023 and 12/21/2023, numerous detectives from multiple investigative teams worked together to gather evidence and to locate and arrest Gutierrez.
 
On 12/21/2023, Gutierrez was discovered within an apartment unit located in the 200 block of E. Wilbur Ave. A search warrant was issued by a Ventura County Superior Court Judge to search the apartment. Numerous detectives and members of the Ventura County Sheriff’s SWAT team served the search warrant. Gutierrez was located and arrested inside of the apartment and detectives recovered evidence related to the crimes.
 
(S) Karl Duncan was also inside the apartment and was subsequently arrested for HS 11378 - Possession of Controlled Substances for Sales.
 
Gutierrez was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for the following charges:
 
PC 273.5(a) – Felony Domestic Violence
PC 594(b)(1) – Felony Vandalism
PC 594(b)(2)(a) – Misdemeanor Vandalism
PC 211 – Robbery
Misdemeanor Warrant for Failure to Appear
 
Gutierrez’s bail was set at $235,000 and his arraignment is scheduled for 12/26/2023.
 
Duncan was booked at the East Valley Jail Facility for the following charges:
 
HS 11378 – Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales
 
Duncan’s bail was set at $50,000 and his arraignment is scheduled for 12/26/2023.
