* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the following counties, Burke and McDowell.
* WHEN...Until 400 PM EST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas all across the upper Catawba Basin.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1118 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated pockets of heavy rain continuing to overspread the advised area adding to the already received 2 to 4 inch rain and locally higher amounts. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Morganton, Marion, Salem, Glen Alpine, Old Fort, Lake James, Lake James State Park, South Mountains State Park, Nebo, Glenwood, Fero, Pleasant Gardens, Woodlawn, Dysartsville, Sugar Hill, North Cove, Thermal City and Ashford. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
