Motor Vehicle Theft - Makatom Drive 
On December 25th, 2023 at approximately 3:15 pm, a Patrol Unit was flagged down on a report of a motor vehicle theft occurring on Makatom Drive. Responding officers immediately determined that the victims' vehicle, a BMW, was taken by at least 2 suspects. Concurrently, a stolen white Hyundai was recovered within a block of this incident location. It is believed that the suspects traveled into Cranford in the stolen Hyundai, stole the BMW, and left the Hyundai behind.
Residents are encouraged to be vigilant in locking not only their vehicles, but also ensuring that their homes are secured during overnight hours. Please continue to remove keyfobs from your vehicles when they are parked. Also, check that your security cameras are operational.
