* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Gaston County in Piedmont North Carolina.

* WHEN...Until 800 PM EST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 405 PM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated continued moderate to heavy rainfall due to persistent showers and thunderstorms crossing Gaston County from the south. One to two inches of rain fell over the past six hours, and an additional one-half to one inch is expected through early evening. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Gastonia, Kings Mountain, Mt Holly, Belmont, Cherryville, Bessemer City, Dallas, Stanley, Cramerton, Lowell, Ranlo, High Shoals, Mcadenville, Crowders Mountain State Park, Lake Wylie, Kings Mountain State Park, Crowders and Crouse. - Flooding is most likely along South Crowders Creek and Catawba Creek at Hudson Road near Gastonia. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
