VICTIM: Adult Male
SUSPECTS: Christopher Morris, a 46-year-old male resident of Fontana
Nancy Gonzalez, a 33-year-old female resident of Fontana
SUMMARY: On Friday, December 23, 2023, at about 10:46 a.m., deputies responded to a carjacking which just occurred in the 9700 block of Calabash Avenue, unincorporated Fontana. The victim stopped his delivery van near an industrial building. Christopher Morris, a 46-year-old male resident of Fontana, approached the victim, forced him out of the van, and stole it.
A short time later, the stolen van was located by Sheriff’s Aviation around the Interstate 15 and Baseline Road, in Fontana. Deputies arrived and took the driver, Nancy Gonzalez, into custody. Morris ran from deputies and was arrested nearby. He was subsequently identified as the suspect in the original carjacking. Through investigation, deputies found another nearby vehicle associated with Morris. Packages and other items stolen from the carjacked van were found inside the second vehicle.
Gonzalez had two warrants for her arrest, including a felony no bail warrant for possessing a stolen vehicle. She was also found to be on probation for a previous stolen vehicle conviction. Morris and Gonzalez were arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for several felonies including carjacking, vehicle burglary, robbery, and other charges.
