On 12/27/2023 at approximately 4:53 PM, deputies with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office were in pursuit of a Jeep Gladiator northbound US 41. The pursuit entered Vigo County and assistance was requested in reference to spike strips and pursuing the vehicle. Deputies Lynn, Cheeks and McClain were in the southern part of the county and responded to assist. Deputy Lynn was able to deploy spike strips at US 41 and Oregon Church Road and successfully struck 3 of the 4 tires. The vehicle continued northbound on US 41 before turning onto Harlan Dr and coming to a stop within the Industrial Park. The driver was taken into custody after a felony stop. Sullivan County took the suspect and suspect’s vehicle into custody, and transported the suspect to the Sullivan County Jail. No injuries occurred during the incident. Steve Meng Chief Deputy
