Flood Advisory until 06:00AM

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, including the following county, Fairfield, northeast New Jersey, including the following counties, Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union, and southeast New York, including the following counties, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau, New York (Manhattan), Putnam, Queens, Richmond (Staten Island), Rockland and Westchester.

* WHEN...Until 600 AM EST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 300 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of near 1 to locally near 2 inches are expected over the area over the next few hours. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Newark, Jersey City, Jamaica, Yonkers, Elizabeth, Stamford, Flatbush, Norwalk, Danbury, New Rochelle, Flushing, Bayonne, White Plains, Mott Haven, Levittown, Hoboken, East Tremont, Hackensack, Freeport and Linden. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
